Technical Architect

Your team

Pictet Tech designs, builds and operates the technology underpinning the Group’s core activities, from portfolio management and trading to banking services. Within Data Platforms, our ambition is to build a modern, resilient and scalable data foundation across the Group. You will join a team at the heart of this transformation, helping to turn complex challenges into secure, reliable and high-performing capabilities that enable teams to deliver faster and with greater confidence.
As a Technical Architect, you will drive the cloud transformation of the Group’s data platforms. You will define hybrid target architectures and lead the migration of data, processing workloads and data flows from on-premises environments to the cloud, balancing innovation with security, resilience and operational continuity. Working closely with domain leads, you will turn strategy into clear technology choices and pragmatic roadmaps, accelerating the transition from legacy platforms to modern cloud-native services.
You will also act as a senior engineering leader across the data domains, solving complex challenges, guiding critical technical decisions and raising engineering standards. You will help strengthen teams and ensure the delivery of scalable, maintainable and operationally robust solutions.

Your role

•    Shaping ambitious hybrid and cloud architectures with domain leads, while maintaining clear ownership of decisions and delivery.
•    Guiding strategies for migrating on-premises databases, processing workloads and data flows to the cloud, setting rigorous standards for security, resilience, performance, operability and cost efficiency.
•    Defining reusable patterns for data integration and processing across APIs, batch processing, change data capture (CDC), streaming and messaging.
•    Providing hands-on support to resolve complex issues, validating architectural choices and building reference implementations that teams can own
•    Leading by example through coding, design reviews, automation and troubleshooting, raising standards and strengthening team capabilities.
•    Ensuring that solutions meet rigorous architectural and operational standards for automation, observability, reliability, performance and maintainability.

Your profile

•    Extensive experience in software, platform, cloud or reliability engineering or in technical architecture, with a track record of delivering complex production systems.
•    Hands-on expertise in software design, coding, automation, testing, CI/CD, observability and troubleshooting.
•    In-depth knowledge of distributed systems, cloud-native architecture, infrastructure, networking, security, reliability and performance.
•    Proven ability to solve complex problems, turn ambiguity into pragmatic solutions and develop proofs of concept where necessary.
•    Extensive public cloud experience, with hands-on AWS expertise considered a distinct advantage.
•    Recognised technical leadership and the ability to set standards, challenge constructively, lead by example and support senior engineers and domain leads.
•    Sound architectural judgement and strong communication skills, with the ability to influence engineers and senior stakeholders.
•    A curious, pragmatic and improvement-focused approach, with an emphasis on simple, scalable, maintainable and robust solutions.
•    Fluent in English and French (written and spoken).
•    Resident in Switzerland or willing and able to relocate.
