Tasks:
- examines municipal master plans to identify Archaeological Interest Perimeters and archaeological assets worthy of protection present in the cantonal territory, processing the resulting procedures in collaboration with other UBC Services
- collaborates with other Office services and departmental bodies for building procedures: in particular examines construction applications and notifications assigned to the Office for prior notice regarding archaeological assets
- coordinates, directs and supervises surveys and field investigations, in agreement with the sector head
- manages the archiving of paper and digital data both for internal use and for availability to external users
- collects and certifies information to populate and update the Inventory of Cultural Assets, through the Cultural Assets Information System (SIBC)
- ensures the management of archaeological finds owned by the State for their conservation and availability for exhibitions, studies, analyses
- provides advice to scholars, researchers and external users regarding archaeological finds in the Canton
- in agreement with the sector head contributes to archaeological dissemination, collaborating on scientific publications, advising on exhibition setups, participating in projects related to the archaeological field
Requirements:
- bachelor + master in archaeology (prehistoric, Roman or medieval)
- qualified experience in the archaeological field (management/organization: field investigations, data processing, collections) with good knowledge of materials, find typology and periods related to the archaeology of Canton Ticino and Switzerland
- experience in scientific and popular publications; editorial ease and interest in dissemination; openness to relationships and communication, especially with the media
- analytical and evaluation skills; good synthesis ability
- dynamism, practicality, rigor, initiative spirit, predisposition to teamwork, wide flexibility and availability;
- good computer skills (Office Package); in particular database programs, georeferencing and image processing
- native Italian speaker; good knowledge (spoken and written) of a second official language. Basic knowledge (spoken and written) of a third official language and English
- type B driving license
Special notes:
- the position of scientific collaborator I (class 10) can only be assigned to candidates with complete academic degrees: university license, degree, consecutive bachelor + master university (Bachelor + Master 270/300 ECTS credits) and who have at least 15 years of professional experience in the required field
- the position of scientific collaborator II (class 9) will be assigned to candidates with less than 15 years of professional experience in the required field and holding complete academic degrees: university license, degree, consecutive bachelor + master university (Bachelor + Master 270/300 ECTS credits)
- entry into service from July 1, 2026

Employment conditions:
- appointment or assignment: those provided by the Law on the organization of State employees and teachers of March 15, 1995 (LORD) and the related Regulation. Any legal changes concerning salary and organization remain explicitly reserved
- working hours: 42 hours per week (for a 100% employment relationship), flexible or according to service needs
