Your tasks
- Teach courses in the Old Testament
- Develop research activities in the areas of the chair
- Promote scientific succession
- Obtain external funding for research
- Actively participate in self-management and work within the committees of the department, faculty and university
- Engage in scientific cooperation, continuing education and joint projects of the Department of Biblical Studies and the Dominique Barthélemy Institute
- Collaborate in teaching and research within and beyond the university
- Disseminate knowledge in dialogue with society
Desired profile
- Doctorate in Catholic theology (or canonical licence in Catholic theology and doctorate)
- Habilitation in the field of the position or equivalent publications
- Scientific publications in the field of the Old Testament
- Ideally, experience in obtaining external funding
- Excellent university teaching and didactic skills, willingness to teach online and in continuing education
- Courses are taught both in person and online. Pedagogical and technical support is available for the development of the latter option
- Ability to lead and supervise collaborators
- Aptitude for cooperation and teamwork
- The University of Fribourg is bilingual (French/German). Knowledge of the second language (oral level B1) is expected. If not, it must be acquired within two years of starting the position
