The Institute of Sport Sciences (ISSUL) at the University of Lausanne is advertising a position for a Graduate Assistant in Sociology of Sport and Gender.
Position Information
Start date: 01.02.2027
Contract duration: 1 year, renewable 2 x 2 years, maximum 5 years
Work rate: 100%
Workplace: Synathlon (Lausanne-Dorigny)
Gross annual salary: CHF 67,168.-, increasing each year according to the scale
Your Activities
The position is under the responsibility of Professor Lucie Schoch. The holder is expected to develop work on gender and sport from a sociological approach.
50% of the work rate will be dedicated to completing a doctoral thesis.
33% of the work rate will be dedicated to teaching support
17% of the work rate will be devoted to shared research work
Your Profile
We wish to recruit a person with the following profile:
- Master’s degree in sport sciences, sociology, social sciences or an equivalent qualification
- Interest in pursuing research activities and developing a thesis in the field of sociology of sport and gender, linked to one of the following axes: gender equality in leadership and governance of sports organisations or gender-based violence in sport (candidates are invited to specify their research intentions for their thesis project in their cover letter).
- Very good skills in qualitative research methods and good knowledge of quantitative methods
- Fluency in French (mandatory) and very good knowledge of English
- Interest in teaching sociology of sport and gender studies
- Organisational skills, ability to work autonomously and independently, and within a research team
