Responsible Sacristan / Caretaker (70 - 100%)

About the job

For the future Catholic parish of Greppen Weggis Vitznau, we are looking for a sociable, proactive individual starting 1 November 2026 or by arrangement.

Your diverse tasks will include in particular:

• Spatial preparation and accompaniment of church services
• Provision and care of liturgical vestments and equipment
• Maintenance, cleaning and upkeep of the parish church Weggis, the parish centre and surroundings; assistance as needed at other locations within the pastoral area
• Operation and monitoring of technical systems
• Collaboration and coordination with the deputy
• Support of the pastoral area team and participation in church events

You bring the following profile:

• Member of the Catholic Church with an understanding of the various forms of worship
• Completed basic vocational training with a technical flair
• Knowledge and experience in facility management
• Willingness to attend further training as a sacristan at the Sacristan School in Einsiedeln or already completed the major basic course with a certificate of competence
• Enjoyment in using digital communication and administrative tools, as well as willingness to learn new programmes
• Mobility, flexibility and willingness to work irregular hours
• Willingness to support and assist in the churches/chapels of the pastoral area
• Independence, organisational enthusiasm, reliability and initiative
• Hospitable, forward-looking service mindset
• German language skills in spoken and written form; knowledge of foreign languages (French, English) is an advantage
• Residence preferably in Greppen, Weggis or Vitznau or willingness to take up residence in the lakeside communities
