Social Welfare Office Graubünden | 60–80 % | Chur
The cantonal Social Welfare Office fulfils the task of personal social and addiction assistance on behalf of the municipalities and supports people in accessing economic social assistance. To this end, it operates eight regional social services in the canton’s regions. The regional social service Chur/Plessur/Imboden is responsible for ten municipalities with a catchment area of 67,000 people.
Social counselling, addiction assistance and financial support
We are looking for a secretary for the Chur location from 1 December 2026 or by arrangement. The position is currently limited until 31 March 2028. There is likely an option to extend the employment.
- Contact person for clients by telephone and at reception
- Providing initial information and factual details by phone and at the counter
- Organisation and coordination of consultation appointments
- Supporting social workers with administrative tasks
- Independent handling of correspondence and general secretarial duties
- Autonomous submission of needs-based applications (e.g. scholarship applications)
- Recording and processing data in the electronic case management system
- Supporting social workers in the introduction of the new case management system
- Obtaining quotes as well as registrations and changes with health insurance and liability insurance companies and with migration authorities
- Other varied, interesting and responsible tasks
- Completed commercial training or a qualification in a comparable field
- Good IT user skills
- Empathetic, clear and service-oriented communication style
- Enjoyment of social issues and working with people from diverse social and/or cultural backgrounds
- Good administrative and organisational skills
- Independent, responsible and constructive working – also in hectic situations
- Precise and structured way of working
- Knowledge of social insurance and foreign languages is an advantage
