The Clinic for Children and Adolescents (UPKKJ) is part of UPK Basel, which fulfils the care mandate for the canton of Basel-Stadt in outpatient and inpatient care. The tasks of UPKKJ include, in addition to university research and teaching, psychiatric and psychological diagnostics as well as the treatment of mental disorders in children and adolescents, taking into account their family and social environment.
The Child Psychiatric Department (KPA) has 11 treatment places for children aged 5 to 13 years and offers short-term crisis intervention as well as medium-term diagnostic or treatment stays. The ward is run openly and works milieu-therapeutically and interdisciplinarily.

What to expect
- Interesting and varied activity in a dynamic interdisciplinary team
- Ensuring professional pedagogical treatment and care of patients aged 5 - 13 years
- Psychosocial and pedagogical support of the children within the framework of interdisciplinary collaboration, taking into account evidence-based scientific methods
- Planning and accompanying the inpatient stay in the admission, assessment, treatment and discharge phases, including initiating follow-up treatment within the department-internal reference person system
- Function-related duty deployments (24-hour operation / including night duty)
- Close cooperation with family, relatives and support system of the patients
- Documentation and performance recording within the framework of internal clinic requirements
What distinguishes you
- Degree as social pedagogue (Bachelor or Master) with experience in child and youth welfare
- You have very good oral and written German skills as well as good IT skills
- You show interest in development and change processes and want to actively help shape them
- High degree of independence and decision-making competence
- Willingness to self-reflect and personal development
- You are committed and resilient, with a high service orientation
- Team player with a positive attitude; you enjoy working independently but also appreciate teamwork
