The EOC, the multi-site hospital of Ticino, is present with its institutes throughout the entire cantonal territory for a total of 1,000 beds. The Nursing Directorates of the Regional Hospital of Lugano and the Cardiocentro Ticino Institute are looking for a:
Head of Basic Nursing Training Site (90%)
The Head of Basic Nursing Training Site is the local coordinator for the quality and development of practical training and acts as a reference for professionals who perform the role of trainers and tutors, who accompany trainees.
In particular:
- translates the guidelines and training strategy into concrete actions at the local level, promoting organisational and training conditions favourable to a learning experience;
- is the reference for professionals who, in wards and services, accompany trainees in clinical practice, supporting them in their role, encouraging the development of tutoring and mentoring skills through advice, coaching and supervision;
- ensures and monitors the quality of support and learning in clinical practice, verifying the consistency of training pathways and intervening, in collaboration with the managers and professionals involved, in the presence of critical issues or specific needs;
- maintains the link between the local site and the EOC Nursing and Medical-Technical Training Competence Centre, ensuring alignment between institutional guidelines and the needs and specificities of the local context;
- manages relations with educational and training institutions, fostering constant dialogue and effective coordination between training pathways and the reality of clinical practice;
Requirements and qualifications:
Academic and advanced training
- Bachelor in Nursing, SSS Diploma in Nursing or equivalent recognised qualifications.
- FFA 1 and/or CAS Clinical Tutor SUPSI and/or SUFFP course for Practical Training Coordinator SSS.
- Preferably, pedagogical qualification equivalent to 600 hours of training (Level II of the Higher School for Health Training – SSFS, Federal Professional Certificate for Adult Trainers FSEA 2 or equivalent), or willingness to complete the training path with this qualification.
- Basic course "Training of Apprenticeship Trainers in Companies" (FAA), completed at the Institute of Continuing Education (IFC) in Camorino.
Professional experience
- at least 3 years of experience in the training field, as responsible for accompanying trainees, trainer, tutor or equivalent role;
- knowledge of cantonal and federal secondary and tertiary health training pathways;
- knowledge of the EOC context and the Swiss health system, or willingness to acquire it.
Professional skills and attitudes
- leadership, coaching skills and focus on people development;
- communication, relational and mediation skills;
- ability to work independently and collaboratively in an interprofessional and organisationally complex context;
- analytical, planning and priority management skills;
- good command of main IT tools and institutional platforms
Languages
- excellent command of Italian and good knowledge of at least one other national language and English.
