About the job
The University Psychiatric Centre Bern is committed in the outpatient clinic of the University Clinic for Forensic Psychiatry and Psychotherapy to research-based, effective and socially relevant treatment of people in forensic contexts. The interdisciplinary team combines clinical psychiatry, psychology, law and social sciences to develop new approaches in diagnostics, therapy and relapse prevention. The aim is to promote the mental health, self-responsibility and social reintegration of patients in the long term – thus making an important contribution to public safety and modern forensic psychiatric care.
Your tasks
- You are responsible for conducting psychological-psychotherapeutic individual and group therapies within the framework of court-ordered and custodial measures
- You work as the lead forensic psychologist
- You maintain the medical records and regularly write reports (e.g. to the referring authorities or the court)
- You are responsible for crisis interventions as well as assessments of the patients’ mental state
- You work interdisciplinarily with the medical service, authorities (probation and custodial services), courts and other institutions
Your profile
- You have a university degree in clinical psychology and have completed or are well advanced in psychotherapy training
- You are interested in and open to people in special and challenging life situations
- You preferably bring forensic psychological professional experience
- You are interested in forensic psychology and enjoy interdisciplinary collaboration
- You have a high capacity for understanding complex issues and demonstrate strong psychological resilience
- A good team atmosphere is important to you
- You have very good German language skills; all other language skills are an advantage
