The Information Technology (IT) of the University of St.Gallen provides the IT infrastructure, end devices, applications, and cloud services and supports the employees and students of the university with IT-related questions in connection with teaching, research, and administration.
Your tasks
- Installation, configuration, and operation of existing and new hardware and software in the area of network infrastructure with a focus on WLAN, Cisco ISE, and VPN
- Maintenance of network components in the management systems as well as documentation of changes within the network infrastructure
- Planning and implementation of expansions and capacity increases within the WLAN infrastructure
- Order processing, awarding, and acceptance in the area of network infrastructure, including fiber optic and copper cabling
- Troubleshooting network issues (2nd level support)
- Leading projects or participating in projects and specialist groups
- Taking over deputizing within the network team during absences
Your profile
- Solid basic training in network technology
- At least three years of professional experience as a network technician, Cisco certifications are an advantage
- Knowledge of routing & switching, Cisco Catalyst Center, Firepower, WLAN controller, and ISE
- Knowledge of cabling techniques (fiber optic and copper), DNS/DHCP, cloud services
- Very good German skills (spoken and written) as well as good English skills
- Balanced, communicative, and team-oriented personality with a high level of service commitment and customer orientation
- Very independent and flexible as well as open to new technologies
