Section Head Groundwater and Water Supply

Do you want to take responsibility for key issues in water protection? In this versatile role, you will take on a key position in the canton for the protection of groundwater, ensuring drinking water supply, and regulating the uses and anthropogenic impacts on the subsurface. Look forward to exciting and varied challenges as well as the opportunity to make a significant contribution to ensuring that groundwater remains protected and the drinking water supply is guaranteed in impeccable quality for future generations.

Your tasks

• Leading the section as well as group management (water supply and geothermal energy use)
• Implementation of groundwater law and enforcement in the areas of groundwater protection and utilisation
• Ensuring an overall ecologically sensible, in the public interest, and legally compliant groundwater management
• Initiating, coordinating, and shaping forward-looking overarching drinking water supply planning
• Implementation and enforcement in connection with the Law on the Use of the Subsurface (GNU)

Your profile

• Master’s degree from a university in natural sciences, engineering, or geology
• Extensive professional experience in the field. Public management and/or enforcement experience advantageous
• Solid leadership experience, possibly in public administration
• Enjoyment of networking and exchanging information and knowledge at cantonal and national levels
• Constructive handling of conflict of interest resolution
• Political acumen
