What you can look forward to.
We ensure the safety and availability of the railway infrastructure by monitoring the condition of the electrical systems (traction power and associated systems), structures, and access points. We take the necessary immediate and planned measures. The satisfaction of our customers is important to us. Therefore, we provide those responsible for the lifecycle with relevant data for the continuous quality improvement of the systems. We represent the interests of SBB during work near electrical systems, check the conformity of the systems during acceptance, and initiate the rectification of defects. Additionally, we review projects with regard to optimal future maintenance and identify the technical causes of faults. Benefits such as a free GA travelcard and discounted travel abroad – also for your family – can be found on our website under Benefits.
What you will achieve.
- As the person responsible for the traction power systems, you ensure their safety and availability and represent the interests of the owner towards internal and external parties. In case of faults, you identify the technical causes, especially in the area of switching devices.
- You analyse and assess the results of various monitoring activities, such as diagnostic vehicles, local measurements, and visual inspections, taking into account existing risks. From this, you derive the necessary maintenance measures, define quality requirements and deadlines, and commission internal or external partners to implement them. If necessary, you initiate immediate measures.
- You ensure that new systems meet the requirements and are free of relevant defects. If necessary, you carry out the SIOP-B acceptance. As a client representative, you also represent SBB’s interests towards third parties such as private individuals, municipalities, and authorities and ensure the updating of system data.
- You technically accept maintenance and repair work and ensure the rectification of identified defects.
- Depending on the system, you plan, coordinate, and supervise the execution of work. You provide technical leadership to the contracted companies and ensure both the conformity of the work performed and compliance with safety regulations.
What you bring with you.
- You are characterised by strong communication skills. You can give clear and precise instructions to SBB colleagues and external companies. Thanks to your technical experience, you approach fault finding, especially in the area of switching devices, systematically and confidently.
- For this role, you have a Federal VET Diploma (EFZ) in a technical field and experience in managing overhead line installation work, for example as a foreman, construction manager, or person responsible for orders. The required certification courses as an expert in "Overhead Line" and "Cables and Cable Protection" are completed as part of your role.
- Very good knowledge of the relevant maintenance guidelines, system components, hazard situations, and the corresponding construction and operational processes complete your professional profile.
- You have very good French or German skills (at least level C1) and good knowledge of the other language (ideally at least level B2).
- You are proficient in using relevant IT systems such as DfA, SAP, AMGT, and ZMON as well as MS Office.
