Social Worker: Housing Assistance (80%)

About the job

Would you like to get involved in the housing sector for people in difficult life situations and make a valuable contribution to the population of Winterthur? Are you interested in tenancy law issues? Do you have background knowledge in social insurance matters? The Housing Assistance of the Social Services of the City of Winterthur supports people who are threatened by or affected by homelessness. We are looking for a committed individual to start immediately or by arrangement:

Your Tasks

• Advising the Winterthur population in difficult housing and life situations, securing existing housing, searching for suitable follow-up solutions
• Organising emergency accommodation and arranging transitional housing
• Contact person for tenants regarding release from transitional housing, home visits to assess resources for the housing search
• Clarification of social, financial and legal issues as well as networking with relevant specialist agencies
• Documentation and interdisciplinary collaboration with authorities and landlords
  
  

Your Profile

• Completed training in social work, commercial background an advantage
• Professional experience in supporting people in complex life and crisis situations (social, migration, addiction and health-specific problems)
• Good knowledge of social welfare and tenancy law
• High resilience, personal responsibility and decision-making ability
• Solution-oriented, independent and strong communication skills
