Orthopedic Surgery Assistant Physician
Profile
The orthopedic-traumatology surgery department of the Regional Hospital of Lugano is the cantonal center for polytraumatized patients (MAS) and covers the entire spectrum of traumatology and orthopedics including complex cases throughout the cantonal territory. The department is recognized by the SIWF for the training of assistants in traumatology and orthopedics of the musculoskeletal system as B1, collaborates with several university centers, and has hosted a Master’s teaching in Biomedicine since 2020.
The position is aimed at doctors interested in training in orthopedics or in general training (internal medicine, rheumatology, physiatry, etc.).
Required qualifications
- degree/diploma in medicine or equivalent title and related registration with MedReg before starting work
- For doctors with foreign titles, recognition by the Federal Commission for Medical Professions MEBEKO and related registration with MedReg before starting work is mandatory
- proven knowledge of the Italian language (required level at least B2), with related registration with MedReg before starting work, knowledge of another national language and English is desirable
- strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- interest in clinical research is essential
- availability to work at all EOC locations
