Specialist Social Work KBM
Cantonal Police | 80-100% | Chur
The Cantonal Threat Management Unit of the Cantonal Police Graubünden (KBM Unit GR) operates as an interdisciplinary team in proactive violence protection in the canton of Graubünden. The KBM Unit takes on a coordinating and advisory role and, together with relevant partner organizations, helps to prevent serious and targeted acts of violence by recognizing warning signs early and professionally assessing and defusing dangerous situations.
To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Specialist Social Work KBM by agreement.
Your area of responsibility
- Responsible for the professional handling of threat situations and early detection of escalation potentials to prevent serious violent crimes
- Creating risk assessments according to scientific standards
- Managing operational KBM cases considering legal requirements and the KBM process
- Ensuring cooperation in operational case management with intra- and inter-cantonal authorities and institutions to prevent serious violent crimes
- Coordinating cross-authority measures to protect endangered persons, authorities, and institutions
- Engaging in active networking, mainly in the field of social work
- Participating in topic-specific expert committees as well as working and project groups in the field of threat management
What we expect from you
- Completed university degree in social work
- Several years of professional experience working with persons affected by or prone to violence
- Knowledge in risk assessment and threat management (e.g., Octagon or comparable tools)
- Good knowledge of legal foundations in criminal law, criminal procedure, and victim protection
- Experience in cross-authority cooperation and coordination of complex case constellations
- High resilience, conflict and decision-making skills, and confident demeanor even in challenging situations
- Strong communication and networking skills and ability to work solution-oriented in interdisciplinary teams
- Analytical thinking, structured working style, and sense of responsibility
- Willingness for continuous further education in threat and risk management
- Very good oral and written expression in German, foreign language skills are an advantage
