Specialist Residence/AIG 80 - 100%The Migration Office of the Canton of Zurich operates daily in the exciting political environment of all migration issues and the resulting tasks. It is responsible for the enforcement of Swiss foreigner and asylum law, the Agreement on the Free Movement of Persons between Switzerland and the EU and EFTA states, as well as the Schengen and Dublin agreements.
For the Residence/AIG department, we are looking for a specialist 80 - 100% starting 15 January 2027 or by arrangement.
You are specifically responsible, within the framework of the applicable provisions of the Foreigners and Integration Act (AIG), for the independent processing of applications for the issuance of foreigner permits as well as residence-terminating measures. You check the documents of the applicants, draft decisions and handle diverse correspondence. You appreciate written contact with applicants, their legal representatives, and with authorities at federal, cantonal and municipal levels in German.
For this demanding and varied role, we require at least a commercial apprenticeship (commercial clerk EFZ) and several years of professional experience or a completed bachelor’s degree. You are skilled in written expression and have an interest in legal issues as well as in the structured and precise drafting of complex decisions. Furthermore, you convince through decisiveness, flexibility, resilience and a high level of commitment. Appreciative and open communication, a sense of collegial cooperation and a touch of humour complete your profile. In addition, you hold Swiss citizenship.
