Job Description
The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Geneva benefits from an enriching multicultural dynamic to which it contributes through its influence within the framework of its mandates: teaching, research and its partnership with the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG).
Through the faculty research services, the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Geneva provides its scientists with essential technical and methodological tools for carrying out life sciences research projects. The proteomics platform offers infrastructure for the identification, characterisation and quantification of proteins using proteomic approaches based on mass spectrometry.
To strengthen its dynamic team, the proteomics platform of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Geneva is currently seeking a:
Scientific Assistant 2 at 80%
The post holder will have the primary mission of organising, performing and validating the analysis of data produced by the proteomics platform, notably, in close collaboration with the platform manager, taking charge of the following main tasks:
- Ensure the analysis of proteomic data and bioinformatics support to users of the proteomics platform
- Maintain technological and methodological watch for the development of the platform
- Ensure the development of resources and training
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Master's degree in sciences (biology, biochemistry or bioinformatics), a PhD is an asset.
- At least 5 years of experience in proteomic data analysis and bioinformatics.
- Excellent command of proteomic data analysis tools and methods, including DDA, DIA and TMT approaches.
- Good knowledge of analysis software, whether commercial or open source.
- Strong skills in statistical analyses applied to omics data.
- Proven experience in R programming and development of analysis tools (Shiny applications).
- Good analytical, synthesis and writing skills in French and English.
- Ability to interact with scientific users and to follow up on projects.
