Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Duty/Guest Relations Manager, the responsibilities and essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Consistently offer professional, engaging, and friendly service
- Welcome individual guests and groups, ensuring personalized and efficient handling from their arrival.
- Create, oversee, and bring to life tailored experiences for each client: birthdays, honeymoons, themed stays (wellness, culture, gastronomy), private events, etc.
- Organize and supervise all services of the lodge: concierge, valets, porters
- Guide, train, and support teams on service delivery, local novelties, and current quality standards.
- Develop a catalog of exclusive local experiences, in partnership with trusted stakeholders to offer unique experiences to clients and ensure quality.
- Ensure proper management of vehicle traffic (including buses) during guest arrivals, departures, and stays.
- Guarantee the rapid and accurate distribution of luggage for all arrivals and departures.
- Inform guests about tourist activities, excursions, cultural or sporting events, and any other service that meets their expectations.
- Provide relevant documentation (brochures, maps, guides), ensuring regular updates of materials.
- Maintain and optimize operational procedures of the department to ensure a consistent, smooth, and exemplary service.
- Ensure that the services offered always meet quality standards and the expectations of demanding clients.
- Handle comments, remarks, and complaints with diplomacy, efficiency, and a sense of service.
- Supervise the proper execution of wake-up service and its reliability.
- Ensure cleanliness and order in the lodge areas, lobby, and associated storage areas.
- Manage the concierge, registration, and distribution of mail and packages intended for clients.
- Participate in the annual budget preparation of the lodge and its management, in collaboration with management.
- Be responsible for the billing of services provided by the Concierge service.
- Know and promote the All loyalty program
- Observe luxury market trends, identify areas for improvement, and actively contribute to maintaining a strong competitive position.
- Recruit department colleagues with the SMART RECRUITER system
- Train colleagues on standards (LQA, Swiss Deluxe, Fairmont) and ensure their application and compliance according to TTT (Train The Trainer) principles
- Ensure fire safety training
- Conduct performance evaluations after the probation period and annually
- Develop an action plan for the opinion survey (Employee Survey) based on results and ensure follow-up
- Conduct regularly scheduled department meetings
- Balance operational, administrative needs, and colleagues' needs
- Update your profile on Ines
- Participate in an evaluation interview with your Manager once a year
- Be flexible and cooperative in all circumstances, especially if required to collaborate with another department on a temporary basis
- Commit to the quality of your service, your discretion, and your perfect honesty
- Maintain a professional attitude, be smiling, and remain calm at all times
- Respect ergonomic work standards in health & safety regulations, hygiene, and sanitary prescriptions
- Respect the policies, procedures, and service standards of the department and the company
- All other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- 4 years of experience as a concierge in 4* and 5* establishments
- 2 years in a supervisory role
- Fluency in French and English
- Knowledge of a third language is an asset
- Membership in Les Clefs d’Or (or ambition to join), a true plus.
- Holder of a valid Swiss driving license
- Excellent communication skills and professional presentation required
- Particularly responsible and reliable
- Flexibility and availability in hours
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work in a team and supervise a team
- Ability to focus on clients' needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
VISA REQUIREMENTS
In order to work in Switzerland, the candidate must possess a Swiss work permit or be from a European Union country – EU-17 or EU-8.
