Creation Guidelines
As a Christian community, we understand nature as God’s creation and ourselves as well as all other people as His creatures.
We believe that God has entrusted us with this world for careful stewardship. It is therefore not our property and we share it with our fellow human beings. For this reason, we are committed to its preservation and to greater justice in the use of the resources entrusted to us.
We seek ways to meet our needs responsibly and not to endanger the needs of future generations. Even small steps in this direction count.
As a learning community, we support each other in our creation-oriented actions. Taking into account the legal environmental regulations, we align ourselves with the church environmental management system Green Cockerel with the commitment to continuously improve the environmental balance.
During the annual creation season of the Zurich regional church, we inform the congregation about what has been achieved and encourage further steps.

What we do
The environmental specialist group has been dealing with current environmental and creation topics since 2012.
The properties of the church community were recorded and after an inspection many concrete measures could be implemented. For example, waste separation was improved in the Forum or various optimisations were made to the heating systems in the buildings.
The conversion of the meadows in front of the church and behind the Forum to extensive use is also showing effects. The meadows have become habitats for various animals and new plants. The wild bee hotels were "fully booked" in a short time.
Furthermore, it is now being examined whether the youth camps could be held in the region to
save transport energy.
Much has also been done in the office area: paper is printed double-sided by default on paper with the "Blue Angel" label.
Since 2013, our church community has committed itself as the first Swiss church community to the campaign » urwaldfreundlich.ch
