The Local Citizen Property and Rental Properties Department of the City of Aarau is looking for a committed individual from November 2026 or by arrangement as
Subject to mutual interest, there is the possibility of a permanent position with a workload of 40–60 % from July 2027.
In this responsible role, you will take on central tasks in the portfolio management of the properties and land of the Local Citizen Community of Aarau during the absence of the post holder. You will ensure that the properties are considered throughout their entire lifecycle, well maintained, strategically further developed and economically managed. In doing so, you represent the interests of the Local Citizen Community in the role of owner, builder and investor.
You will prepare the necessary foundations for strategic decisions, write reports and proposals to the City Council as well as messages to the Local Citizen Community Assembly. Furthermore, the role involves working in project and construction delegations and representing the owners' interests in renewal, maintenance and development projects. Your responsibilities also include negotiating, concluding and adjusting building rights and easement contracts, as well as collaborating on matters related to lease and rental agreements. In addition, you will handle other legal transactions in real estate law. Complementarily, you will deputise for the Head of the Local Citizen Property and Rental Properties Department.
For this position, you bring several years of professional experience in real estate management, portfolio management or a comparable function. Ideally, you have a university or university of applied sciences degree with additional training in infrastructure, real estate management or property management. Alternatively, you have higher education in the real estate sector, for example in real estate trust, or a comparable qualification.
You work in a structured, independent and analytical manner, think economically and maintain an overview even with complex issues. Your communication skills, negotiation ability and confident appearance in political and administrative environments distinguish you. You have a high level of written expression, enjoy interdisciplinary work and have an interest in political decision-making processes.
