Product Development Engineer (Senior)

Thömus is looking for an experienced mechanical engineer who takes responsibility for developing high-performance products and actively shapes innovation, who independently leads development projects – from the concept phase to series production – and ensures that technical excellence, quality, and deadlines are met, playing a key role within an interdisciplinary team.

Your tasks – You make a difference:

• Leading product development projects (e-bikes and bio bikes, accessories)
• Defining, evaluating, and further developing technical requirements
• Designing and developing components and assemblies in 3D (SolidWorks or comparable)
• Developing innovative technical solutions
• Managing all project phases: design, prototyping, testing, industrialization
• Ensuring deadlines, costs, and quality standards
• Close collaboration with industrial design, production, and marketing
• Technical leadership and structuring of projects
• Communication with suppliers and conducting on-site visits
• Supporting production and marketing teams with technical know-how

Your profile – what you bring:

• Completed studies in mechanical engineering
• At least 3 years of professional experience in product development
• Very good English skills
• Basic knowledge of German (highly recommended)
• Very good skills in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
• Experience with simulation tools (advantageous)
• Solid knowledge of fiber composite materials
• Very good understanding of manufacturing processes and quality requirements
• Experience in project management
• Passion for bicycles
• Strong sense of responsibility and ownership mindset
• Ability to manage projects in a dynamic environment
• Structured, solution-oriented, and goal-driven working style
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• High independence and initiative
• Willingness to travel
