The Office for Military and Civil Protection is the cantonal specialist office for all matters concerning the areas of military, civil protection, and population protection and enforces the associated laws.
Civil protection is one of the five partner organizations of population protection (police, fire department, health services, technical operations, civil protection).
In the canton of Graubünden, around 1700 members of civil protection are assigned and serve in the regional civil protection companies as well as various special formations.
The Office for Military and Civil Protection is looking for a Head of Civil Protection Operations/Training starting 01.08.2026 or by agreement.
- Personnel, professional, and organizational leadership of the Civil Protection Operations/Training area as well as the Civil Protection Battalion Graubünden
- Further development of the organization regarding structure, processes, and training
- Ensuring a regulated service operation at the training center Meiersboda
- Ensuring the operational readiness of civil protection
- Support and advice to the commanders and leaders of the regional civil protection companies
- Leadership and participation in various projects
- Intercantonal exchange and participation in working groups
- Member of the office management
- Completed vocational training with several years of practical experience
- Qualification as a civil protection instructor with a federal diploma
- Several years of leadership experience in the military or civil protection field
- Motivating and team-oriented leadership style, confident appearance, and assertiveness
- High service orientation and teamwork skills in an interdisciplinary environment
- Innovative, networked thinking personality with strategic, conceptual, and communicative strengths
- Experienced organizational, planning, and coordination skills
- Analytical skills and problem-solving competencies
- High social competence, flexibility, and high resilience
- Knowledge of Italian and/or Romansh is an advantage
