For Light-Matter Interactions group in the Laboratory for Materials Simulations LMS of the PSI Center for Scientific Computing, Theory, and Data CSD we are looking for a
Your tasks
- Carry out research theory of angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy ARPES
- Implement new methods in and improve open-source scientific software in the group
- Perform first-principles simulations of ARPES for materials relevant to orbitronics
- Identify fingerprints of orbital angular momentum
- Identify promising materials for orbitronics applications
- Collaboration with experimental groups
- Support research and teaching activities generally
Your profile
- A PhD degree in Physics or a closely related field
- A strong background in theoretical condensed matter physics or related disciplines
- Basic knowledge photoemission spectroscopy or related techniques
- Theoretical and practical knowledge of first-principles simulations of materials based on DFT
- Good programming skills in Fortran and Python
- Good command of English and excellent communication skills
- The ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with both theoretical and experimental partners is essential
