About the job
About us
LGT is the world’s largest private banking and asset management group owned by an entrepreneurial family. As the family office of the Princely House of Liechtenstein, we impress you with many years of experience in managing large fortunes.
Your area of responsibility
We are looking for an AI Operations Specialist with a technical IT background. In this role, you will engage with building applications and deploying AI services in concrete use cases. Together with the responsible teams, you analyse how the services are used, where costs arise, and which technical adjustments can improve usage. This way, you help to deploy AI efficiently and economically sustainably across projects, products, and platforms.
You work closely with developers, data scientists, AI users, platform teams, and finance to understand the applications and use cases behind AI usage, identify cost drivers, and collaboratively develop improvements with the teams. You analyse unusual consumption patterns, question inefficient setups, and support teams in making more informed decisions regarding model usage, infrastructure, and budgeting.
This role is suitable for individuals who enjoy linking technical details with financial impacts and translating complex usage data into concrete, actionable measures.
- Collaboration with project, product, and platform teams to understand their AI use cases and technical setups and identify opportunities for more efficient use of AI services, models, and infrastructure.
- Granular tracking of AI costs, including API calls, token usage, model runs, and infrastructure consumption.
- Building and maintaining reporting, dashboards, and forecasting models for AI workload growth, spend trends, and budget utilisation.
- Identification of cost-saving opportunities, for example through model right-sizing, improved caching strategies, and more efficient usage patterns.
- Monitoring AI usage across native and third-party cloud cost management and observability platforms, including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Reviewing unusual consumption patterns, investigating root causes, and collaborating with developers and AI users to define corrective actions.
- Supporting planning, forecasting, and budgeting for AI initiatives and aligning the expected needs of teams with available funding.
- Contributing to governance, standards, KPIs, and reporting for AI-related spend.
- Acting as an interface between data scientists, engineers, product teams, and finance to translate operational AI challenges into clear financial requirements and decisions.
- Promoting awareness of and application of FinOps best practices for AI within the organisation.
- Collaborating with existing FinOps practitioners responsible for broader infrastructure cost management, including Azure and on-premise environments.
Your profile
- Two to three years of experience in a technical IT role, for example in software development, application operations, or cloud engineering, as well as experience with FinOps or cloud cost management.
- Good understanding of modern AI and ML ecosystems, including platforms such as AWS SageMaker, Bedrock, Azure AI Services, and Azure OpenAI.
- Experience with cost observability and monitoring tools.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret usage data, identify anomalies, and derive practical recommendations.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical consumption data into understandable financial narratives.
- Very good German and English skills and the ability to communicate clearly and appropriately in both languages.
Applications submitted via recruitment agencies cannot be considered for this position.
