Trainee Employee (MAiA) Social Work, 60%Good for life – that is our motto. The Office for Youth and Career Counselling (AJB) is responsible for child and youth welfare as well as career counselling. Children, young people and families are at the heart of our work. We dedicate ourselves to them daily with great passion and commitment.
The kjz (Child and Youth Welfare Centre) is a polyvalent counselling centre for families, parents, young people, children and toddlers and operates on the basis of the Child and Youth Welfare Act of the Canton of Zurich. Are you keen to commit yourself to the welfare of children and young people? Then become a trainee employee (MAiA) in the field of Social Work and mandates at kjz Rüti from 1 September 2026 or by arrangement and join our team. Alongside your studies at a university of applied sciences in Social Work, you will have the opportunity to specialise in child and youth welfare. You will be gradually introduced to the area of responsibility.
Our core business includes:
- Case management of legal measures on behalf of the Child and Adult Protection Authority KESB (guardianships and custodianships)
- Counselling on behalf of parents
- Investigations in cases of child welfare endangerment on behalf of the Child and Adult Protection Authority KESB or the courts
In daily work, this means, in addition to the core tasks and cooperation with parents, children and young people, especially:
- Record keeping and writing reports and applications to authorities
- Cooperation with homes, foster families, socio-pedagogical family support, child and adolescent psychiatric services, school psychological services, etc.
- Depending on the mandate, also performing tasks within financial administration
You have already started the basic studies at a university of applied sciences in Social Work or have the admission for the start of studies. We are looking for a motivated, reliable and resilient person with high social competence. You are characterised by an independent working style as well as good written and oral communication skills. Initial professional experience and a minimum age of 25 years are required. We offer you an attractive training position in an exciting environment as well as a centrally located workplace with modern infrastructure next to Rüti station (15-minute intervals from Zurich main station). The employment conditions correspond to the cantonal guidelines.
