Socio-educational Assistant

About the job

To complete our team, we are looking for a socio-educational assistant wishing to embrace the philosophy of Sans Souci, where we support each person from where they are, their resources, choices and aspirations, in an approach focused on recovery, self-determination and harm reduction.

Socio-educational assistant at 80%-100%

Start date: as soon as possible or to be agreed

Hours: continuous + weekends and on-call duties

Working at Sans-Souci means:

• Supporting people living with mental health disorders in their recovery journey and life projects.
• Developing a comprehensive, individualised and non-judgemental support relationship that recognises the experience, choices, resources and aspirations of each person.
• Supporting self-determination and empowerment by building responses with the person that take into account their priorities, abilities, but also the risks they choose to take.
• Embedding one’s practice in a harm reduction approach, particularly regarding substance use, favouring dialogue, pragmatism and the search for adapted strategies rather than a solely prescriptive logic.
• Co-constructing rehabilitation and reintegration projects with residents, in partnership with their network and the various professionals involved.
• Working in a dynamic, interdisciplinary and initiative-friendly environment, allowing for varied, creative and reflective practice.
• Benefiting from the working conditions provided by the collective labour agreement of the Vaud parapublic sector.

We are looking for:

• A socio-educational assistant with experience in psychiatry, holding a recognised professional qualification (CFC) as a socio-educational assistant.
• A professional who shares a recovery-oriented support vision, recognising the person as an active agent in their journey, choices and life project, including when these involve some risk.
• A person capable of adopting a kind, non-judgemental and respectful stance towards self-determination, seeking a balance between empowerment, safety and professional responsibility.
• A professional comfortable with a harm reduction approach, able to support substance use and risk-taking pragmatically, without trivialisation or moralising attitude. An autonomous, flexible and creative person, able to question their practices, adapt to situations and build individualised responses rather than systematically applying standardised answers.
• Finally, a professional who values interdisciplinary and partnership work, constructive confrontation of perspectives and co-construction with residents and their network.
