Class and annual salary (including 13th month):
6 68,456.-- / 107,475.--
Tasks:
- develop acquisition policies and development of documentary resources in collaboration with the Library Commission
- catalogue, subject-index and classify library books
- lend library documents
- train in the use of the library
- assist students and teachers in using library resources
- respond to information and consultation requests with appropriate materials
- promote reading animation programmes and cultural activities
- participate in planning activities related to curriculum implementation
- establish collaborations with external organisations (parents' committee, associations operating in the socio-cultural field, external facilitators, etc.)
- analyse the resource and information needs of the school community
- remove outdated or damaged documents
Requirements:
- SUP specialist in information and documentation, cantonal librarian diploma or BBS, or equivalent qualification, conditionally in training for its attainment or already enrolled in training
- adequate knowledge of computerised cataloguing procedures (Aleph) of book collections
- knowledge of IT skills (information literacy) and collection management and development
- knowledge of literature for adolescents and popular science
- independence, sense of responsibility, reliability and accuracy
- ability to collaborate with teachers and design educational activities (research, promotion of reading, media literacy)
- basic knowledge of the Ticino school system
- decision-making, editorial and interpersonal skills
- good knowledge of Italian and knowledge (conversation and writing) of a second official language
Special remarks:
- for those without the required qualification, the appointment will initially be in the form of a contract (art. 15 and 16 LORD) for a duration of one year, renewable. It will be converted into a permanent appointment upon obtaining the diploma. Failure to obtain the qualification will result in termination of the contract on the specified date

Employment conditions:
- appointment or contract: those provided for by the Law on the Organisation of State Employees and Teachers of 15 March 1995 (LORD) and the related Regulations. Any changes in law concerning salary and organisation are explicitly reserved
- working hours: 42 hours per week (for a 100% employment rate), flexible or according to service needs
