Your next career step in mechanical engineeringTo strengthen our management team, we are looking for an experienced and motivated individual as Head of Design Department. In this key role, you will take overall responsibility for the entire department and lead a dedicated team of project managers, designers, and apprentices.
We are a dynamic mechanical engineering company in the canton of Uri. The mobile crushing and screening plants manufactured in Seedorf are sold very successfully worldwide. Around 330 motivated and competent employees deliver top performance every day. To strengthen our team, we are looking for you immediately as:
Head of Design Department 80 - 100%, Seedorf
Your tasks
- Technical and disciplinary management of the design department
- Responsibility for budget planning, resource management, and quality assurance of all mobile screening and crushing plants
- Planning, control, and monitoring of complex design and customer projects
- Ensuring timely and budget-compliant implementation
- Interface coordination with sales, production, and service
- Support in the preparation of specifications and manufacturing orders
- Maintaining technical documentation
- Optimising processes and promoting employee development
Your profile
- Completed training as a designer/polymechanic and/or similar; a degree in mechanical engineering/design engineering is an advantage but not essential
- Several years of experience in project management as a department or team leader/project manager in mechanical engineering
- Sound knowledge of CAD systems and common design methods
- Leadership skills as well as experience in developing and motivating teams
- Fluent German and English skills, additional national languages are an advantage
- Customer orientation, entrepreneurial thinking, and result orientation as well as communication and teamwork skills
