We are looking for a

Legal Specialist in Municipal Law (m/f/d)

starting 1 November 2026 or by arrangement
  • Legal advice and support for citizens, municipal authorities, and administrative staff in implementing legal requirements
  • Design and delivery of training and further education for authority members on the Municipal Act and other regulations
  • Conducting supervisory audits with a focus on official management
  • Advising internal departments on questions regarding the interpretation of municipal law and ensuring coherent implementation of legal requirements
  • Drafting supervisory orders or more complex information for municipalities as well as instructions, leaflets, and tools for municipalities
  • Building and maintaining a knowledge database
  • Commentary on the Municipal Act
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in law or administrative training with additional legal qualification (legal agent, legal specialist, paralegal)
  • Professional experience in public administration, a municipal office, as a council clerk, or in municipal law
  • Willingness to deliver presentations for training and further education of authorities
  • Confident appearance for presentations and exchanges with professionals
  • Team spirit and willingness to collaborate with other departments (e.g., legal staff)
  • Communication and service-oriented mentality
  • You will be part of a lively interdisciplinary team that frequently exchanges ideas and takes responsibility
  • You contribute to ensuring and further developing the application of law and the training of municipalities in the canton of St. Gallen
  • Challenging issues from diverse areas, links to current developments, and communication with citizens and municipalities
