Background:

The "Pharma Engineering Drug Substance" circle is looking for an Automation Engineer Pharma Engineering (m/f/d) with a focus on programming (especially PCS7) for the Basel site.

The "Pharma Engineering Drug Substance" circle offers internal customers in the areas of research, development, launch and market production at the Basel site professional engineering services.

The activities include the planning, implementation and operational engineering of production facilities.

Furthermore, customers are supported in idea generation and concept development of new, innovative solutions for designing efficient production processes. Orders and projects are handled without hierarchies in self-organised specialist teams with a new delivery model. This requires a high degree of self-organisation, foresight and team spirit as well as pronounced communication skills.

As an Automation Engineer Pharma Engineering (m/f/d), you will support existing and new automation systems that are or will be integrated into the Roche infrastructure. The process plants to be supported have a very high degree of automation and are strongly networked with each other and with higher-level IT systems.

The perfect candidate: has completed vocational training or a degree as a technician or engineer in the field of automation, electrical engineering, technical computer science or a comparable discipline. We are looking for a personality with at least three years of professional experience in the automation environment, preferably in the pharmaceutical sector, as well as sound knowledge of GMP and GAMP environments. In addition, very good user knowledge of Siemens automation software (PCS7, S7, TIA, WinCC) is required. An independent, responsible way of working, high service orientation and reliability characterise the profile. Very good German language skills, both spoken and written, are required; English skills are an advantage.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

Operational engineering with the aim of ensuring production is maintained at all times

• Continuous optimisation of process plants and evaluating, testing and recommending new technologies
• Collaboration in interdisciplinary teams with internal and external employees and companies
• Independent participation in automation projects in all project phases with responsibility for costs, deadlines, resources and technical solutions
• Support during audits and inspections by internal bodies and authorities in the area of GMP and HSE
• Ensuring 24/7 support as part of a 24/7 support team

Must Haves:
Completed vocational training or degree as a technician / engineer in the field of automation, electrical engineering, technical computer science or similar

• At least 3 years of professional experience in the automation environment, preferably with a pharmaceutical background
• Very good user knowledge in the area of Siemens automation software PCS7, S7, TIA, WinCC
• Sound experience in GMP and GAMP environments
• Independence, initiative and integrity as well as very high service orientation with a strong sense of duty
• Very good German language skills, both spoken and written, are required; English skills are an advantage

• High social competence, teamwork skills and very good communication and coordination skills, also in dealing with stakeholders and at all levels
• Enthusiasm as well as an independent, customer-oriented way of working
• Questioning conventional thought patterns and openness to new, creative ideas - also outside familiar fields ("out of the box thinking")
• Ability to break down complex issues and communicate them to customers and stakeholders in an appropriate language
