Medical Research Assistant in the Infectious Diseases Department

The Infectious Diseases Department is seeking a medical research assistant at a 60% workload, on a permanent contract, to contribute to its clinical research activities, particularly in the field of HIV. The starting date is scheduled for 1 November 2026.

Context

The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.

Attached to the CHUV Department of Medicine, the Infectious Diseases Department provides highly specialised medical services in epidemiology, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of infectious diseases.

The Infectious Diseases Consultation (IDC) welcomes patients with infectious pathologies. It notably ensures the diagnosis and outpatient treatment of infectious diseases, administration of intravenous antibiotics (APA), prevention and treatment of sexually transmitted infections in patients over 16 years old, as well as care for people living with HIV.

Mission

• You manage clinical research protocols, including preparation of files, creation and management of databases, administrative follow-up, and pharmacy management
• You provide care and follow-up for patients participating in clinical studies, in accordance with research protocols
• You contribute to clinical research projects in the field of HIV, including drafting protocols, analysing results, and submitting and coordinating national and international studies
• You ensure project monitoring, quality control, and audits related to clinical studies
• You train and support colleagues involved in clinical research activities.

Profile

• You hold a diploma as a medical assistant or an equivalent qualification
• You have completed Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training
• You have at least 2 years of professional experience in organising clinical studies
• You are proficient in English
• You demonstrate rigour and excellent organisational skills, particularly in the administrative follow-up of your activities
• You are autonomous, responsive, and dynamic, enjoy teamwork, and have excellent interpersonal skills with patients.

Depending on the candidate's profile, the salary scale ranges between levels 5 and 7.
