Staff Member: Head of Specialist Unit 80%Coordination and strategic further development of integration promotion in the Canton of Zurich. We are the cantonal competence centre for questions on integration, social diversity and anti-racism.
To complement our team, we are looking for a staff member as Head of Specialist Unit (80%) from 1 September 2026 or by arrangement.
You will work closely with the head of the specialist unit as leadership support and handle and accompany strategic, organisational and cultural issues. You will contribute significantly to ensuring that the management functions as smoothly as possible and that the specialist unit can fulfil its mandate effectively and efficiently.
Your tasks
- You support the head of the specialist unit in fulfilling her tasks and in cross-departmental matters.
- You lead cross-departmental projects focusing on organisational development and strategy or participate in such projects.
- You prepare analyses, research and presentations on various topics.
- You handle complex political enquiries and matters.
- You accompany scientific studies and evaluations.
- You take on the planning and minute-taking of management meetings and coordinate the annual planning as well as the implementation status of the annual goals.
- You plan and support the preparation of internal cantonal committees and conferences (including minutes).
- You coordinate the substantive reporting to the federal government.
- You act as a sparring partner for the head of the specialist unit and the other members of the management.
Your profile
- You have a university degree, preferably in a humanities or social science.
- You can demonstrate several years of professional experience in a staff function, ideally at management level.
- You have good knowledge in the fields of migration and integration and can quickly familiarise yourself with new topics.
- You know the mechanisms of public administration and have experience in political communication as well as in managing demanding projects.
- You organise your area of activity independently and responsibly and respond flexibly to current challenges.
- You are extremely resilient and maintain an overview even in hectic situations.
- You have excellent German skills and are able to formulate even complex matters clearly.
