Role:
On behalf of the client, we are seeking an experienced individual as Project Manager Building Construction / Client Representation to manage demanding public building construction and urban development projects. You will represent the client throughout the SIA phases 21-53 and coordinate complex interfaces between planning teams, authorities, political bodies, and adjacent third-party projects. The focus is on professional management of costs, schedules, risks, and quality as well as preparing well-founded project and investment decisions. The position combines demanding construction project management with public procurement and the long-term development of a significant central project.
Responsibilities:
Assuming client representation and project management for complex municipal building construction projects from strategic planning to realisation
Managing and coordinating project development along the SIA phases 21-53
Leading interdisciplinary teams of architects, specialist planners, experts, and external project partners
Responsibility for ongoing cost, schedule, risk, and quality management and early initiation of appropriate control measures
Coordinating demanding interfaces with urban development, infrastructure projects, and neighbouring third-party projects
Preparing specifications, project requirements, and tender documents for planning and expert services
Conducting and supporting tenders and award procedures in compliance with public procurement law
Preparing and supporting planner and expert contracts and monitoring agreed services
Organising and leading project, planning, and steering meetings including minutes, action, and decision lists
Developing project reports, decision bases, and templates for project committees and municipal decision-making bodies
Ensuring structured project controlling and reporting as well as traceable project and decision documentation
Coordinating internal and external project communication with administration, authorities, planning partners, and other stakeholders
Qualifications:
Advanced technical education as FH/ETH architect, FH/ETH civil engineer, certified construction manager, construction economist or comparable qualification
Several years of experience in construction project management or client representation of complex building construction or urban development projects
Sound knowledge of SIA phases and Swiss construction and planning processes
Experience with public procurement, tenders, and planner awards, ideally in a municipal or public environment
Further training in project management and experience with construction administration software such as BauPlus is an advantage
Very good IT user skills for project controlling, reporting, and document management
Very good German language skills with strong proficiency in writing project reports and decision bases
