Occupational Therapist for the Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Service West
The Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Service West (SPPAO) is looking for an occupational therapist at a 50% workload to strengthen its teams within the adult hospital units of Prangins Hospital. The starting date is scheduled for 1 November 2026.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Service West (SPPAO) is one of the services of the CHUV Department of Psychiatry. It provides care for people suffering from mental disorders in the western region of the canton of Vaud through hospital and outpatient facilities.
The adult hospital units of Prangins welcome patients aged 18 to 65 requiring acute psychiatric care. Care is based on an interprofessional approach, bringing together doctors, nurses, psychologists, social workers, physiotherapists, spiritual companions, and occupational therapists.
Mission
- You contribute to care, training, and research missions in accordance with CHUV’s triple mission
- You intervene early with patients hospitalised in acute psychiatry
- You carry out occupational therapy assessments and implement interventions adapted to patients’ needs
- You promote the maintenance or development of autonomy, participation, and functional abilities of patients in their daily activities
- You actively contribute to the quality and safety of services, in a continuous improvement approach to professional practices
- You work closely with the various professionals involved in care
- You ensure collegial and interprofessional collaboration within care teams.
Profile
- You hold a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy or an equivalent qualification
- You have recognition from the Swiss Red Cross for diplomas obtained abroad (mandatory)
- You ideally have experience in psychiatry
- You have several years of clinical experience, an asset
- You demonstrate autonomy, a sense of responsibility, and excellent adaptability
- You possess good communication skills, interdisciplinary teamwork, and negotiation abilities
- You have a strong interest in developing care quality and continuous improvement of professional practices.
The salary scale is between 8 and 9, depending on the candidate’s profile.
