As part of the Education Directorate of the Canton of Zurich, the Office for Youth and Career Counselling actively shapes the services in the field of child and youth welfare as well as career counselling. Children, young people and families are at the centre of our work – we dedicate ourselves to this every day – with great passion and commitment. The Sponsorships Department is part of the area of supplementary educational support and responsible for the enforcement of the Child and Youth Home Act (KJG).
In the Pedagogy & Quality team, we are looking for an expert personality from the fields of social work, social pedagogy or educational sciences, preferably with experience in residential child and youth welfare and a business understanding of social institutions or in managing a social enterprise, to start immediately or by arrangement, limited until 31.12.2030.
Your tasks
- Examination of approval applications in residential care and responsibility for the supervision of institutions (including handling of supervision-relevant incidents)
- Responsibility for concluding service agreements with service providers in the field of residential care (including budget review and processing of staffing requests)
- Examination and approval of concepts for residential care services
- Advising service providers on professional, organisational and legal questions regarding quality assurance.
- Participation in the development and compliance with normative requirements, processes and qualitative foundations
- Close cooperation with the Controlling team as well as with service providers and relevant authorities at federal and cantonal level
Your profile
- Bachelor’s degree (university/FH) in social work, educational sciences or related disciplines with interest and understanding of business and legal issues and no fear of numbers
- Several years of professional experience in child protection, residential child and youth welfare or in a comparable administrative function
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex matters clearly, precisely and appropriately for the target group.
- Confident demeanour and the ability to act clearly and constructively even in demanding conversations
- High degree of independence, resilience and motivation to actively drive things forward
- Affinity for IT issues and the use of specialised applications
- Interest in engaging in a socially and politically relevant environment and taking responsibility
