Uster, the third largest city in the canton of Zurich, with around 38,000 inhabitants, is a dynamically growing city in the Zurich metropolitan area and known as an innovative regional centre.

The property drainage department of the city of Uster is a well-coordinated team responsible for the implementation and review of wastewater engineering applications, advice, inspections and approvals of corresponding construction projects, and ensuring compliance with water protection regulations to protect groundwater and water bodies from contamination and to ensure the prescribed separation of wastewater and rainwater.

We are looking for a

Property Drainage Specialist 80 - 100%

Your main tasks

• Independent assessment of wastewater engineering construction applications and execution of corresponding approval procedures applying legal regulations and technical standards, and issuing wastewater engineering permits, with signing authority
• Assessment and consultation on conditions related to building permits
• Approvals and inspections of property drainage systems after structural changes and installations
• Inspection and evaluation of sewer inspections and tightness tests
• Providing information and advice on property drainage questions
• Drafting correspondence, preparing reports, minutes and decision-making documents
• Invoicing for sewer connection fees

Your profile

• Completed technical apprenticeship (sanitary, civil or structural draughtsperson or building services planner or equivalent)
• Professional certificate "Property Drainage Specialist" or willingness to obtain it
• Several years of professional experience in the field and knowledge of SN standard 592000
• Training and professional experience as a construction manager or project manager or relevant administrative experience is an advantage
• Conceptual understanding of urban drainage and modern rainwater management
• Fluent German language skills, spoken and written (at least C2)
• Good PC user skills (Office applications, M365, CMI advantageous)
• Driving licence category B
