About the job
Space for living with dementia – innovative, humane, connected.
The Basler Wirrgarten Foundation has been committed to people with dementia and their relatives for over 25 years and is regarded as a national reference institution. In the Oekolampad community centre, it runs the Atrium Competence Centre with two day care centres, a specialised counselling centre and further care services. The Atrium follows a person-centred approach and focuses on the social and cultural participation of those affected. Relatives are supported through counselling, training and relief services. 20 employees and 30 volunteers are dedicated to the needs of the clientele. Professional expertise, innovative strength and networking are the key factors for the success of the Basler Wirrgarten Foundation.
Due to the retirement of the long-standing incumbent, we are looking for a charismatic and entrepreneurial personality as of 1 August 2027 or by arrangement as
Managing Director
Reporting directly to the Board of Trustees, you bear full operational responsibility for the foundation and develop it strategically together with the Board. You lead the operation professionally, personally and financially. Together with the members of the management team, you secure public and private funding, ensure smooth processes and develop innovative offers and projects. You maintain contacts with politics, administration, institutions from the network and the neighbourhood in the Oekolampad community centre, position the foundation externally together with the Board of Trustees and raise awareness of the topic of dementia.
We are looking for a committed, competent and versatile leader with tertiary-level training in the field of ageing, health or social affairs, complemented by qualifications in business administration or NPO management, as well as a special connection to the topic of dementia. You bring several years of experience in business organisation, personnel management and fundraising. With your communicative and persuasive manner as well as high social competence, you lead employees and volunteers and work successfully with various external stakeholders. Ideally, you are rooted in the region and have a corresponding network.
Those who work here become part of a dynamic, innovative and connected NPO that stands with great passion for people with dementia and their relatives. We look forward to receiving your meaningful electronic application (PDF format).
