Who are we?

The Swiss Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training EHB is the Swiss centre of expertise for vocational education and training. We train and further educate those responsible for vocational education, research vocational education, develop professions, and support international vocational education cooperation. Our locations are in Zollikofen near Bern (headquarters), Lausanne and Lugano, with external sites in Olten and Zurich.

For the Services division, we are looking for a

Head of Services as a Member of the University Management

starting 1 August 2026 or by arrangement.

Your area of responsibility

• You will lead the Services division during a phase of strategy implementation and consolidation, shaping the path towards a high-performing, needs-oriented, and economical operation.
• You will be responsible for the areas of Finance and Controlling, ICT, Library, Facility Management, as well as regional coordination in Lugano.
• You will create transparency regarding services, costs, and quality, optimise processes and structures, and develop the service areas purposefully. In doing so, you will use digital developments and technologies strategically to advance efficient, user-oriented, and cross-location services.
• You will work closely with the performance areas of teaching, research and development, as well as the Centre for Vocational Development, coordinate different requirements and interests, and ensure needs-based support at all locations.
• You will take into account the specific requirements of a multilingual, federally structured educational organisation and ensure sustainable, cross-location solutions.
• You will be a member of the university management, represent the perspective of Services internally and externally, and contribute to the implementation-oriented further development of the overall organisation.

Your profile

• You have a university degree with a business administration focus or an equivalent qualification, complemented by experience in the public sector or educational environment.
• You bring experience in leading several support areas – such as Finance, ICT or Infrastructure – in a complex institutional environment and have a strong affinity for cross-organisational service development.
• You have demonstrable experience in digital transformation and organisational development, particularly in optimising processes, structures, and collaboration.
• You understand the functioning of public-law organisations and combine implementation strength with a holistic perspective.
• Through dialogue and negotiation skills, you create sustainable solutions in the interest of the entire institution.
• You have very good language skills in German and French; good Italian and English skills are an advantage.
• You are willing to be regularly present at the various EHB locations.
