The Bern Historical Museum is one of the most important cultural history museums in Switzerland. It is a growing repository of knowledge and experience for the culture and history of Bern and the world. The collections on history, archaeology, and ethnography comprise around 567,000 objects. They offer insights into living environments from different historical periods and cultural contexts. The integrated Einstein Museum places the life and work of the physicist in the context of world history.
We are looking for a
Technical Services Employee 80–100%
- Maintaining and developing the outdoor areas in cooperation with gardening companies
- Ensuring cleanliness and order in the outdoor areas
- Supervising an assistant
- Operating the building technical systems according to the instructions of the person responsible for the systems
- Setting up and dismantling as well as maintaining exhibitions, events, and functions
- Supporting other employees as needed and under the direction of the Technical Services management
- Day, on-call, and weekend duties in rotation with the other 4 employees on duty, accompanying evening events during duties
What you bring:
- Qualification as a specialist in operational maintenance EFZ, landscape gardener with a technical flair, craft apprenticeship EFZ or comparable qualification
- Experience in building maintenance, garden and green space care
- Expertise in planning and carrying out craft work as well as in the underlying processes and procedures
- Knowledge in the area of HLKS systems or willingness to familiarise yourself with this field
- High degree of reliability, sense of responsibility, and commitment
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Administrative and organisational skills as well as general IT user knowledge (MS Office suite, CAFM tool)
- Time flexibility for day, on-call, and weekend duties (intervention time: 45 minutes)
