Job description

This is a full-time position involving teaching at bachelor, master and postgraduate levels including supervision of master theses and doctoral dissertations. The main objective of this position will be to strengthen and increase GSEM’s research and teaching capacities in the field of Finance.
The candidate will be expected to develop research internationally in their specialisation and to obtain external funding. They will also be required to undertake management and organisational tasks related to their role at the Geneva Finance Research Institute. The candidate is also expected to commit to the institution’s service, actively collaborate with its various stakeholders and contribute to the Faculty’s various initiatives.

Required title and skills

The candidate must hold a PhD in Finance or a related field from a recognised university. The quality of research must be demonstrated by publications in leading international peer-reviewed journals. Candidates for the assistant professor position with conditional tenure track may demonstrate research excellence through promising research projects, papers and academic references.
The candidate must have teaching experience at various levels and in one or more Finance fields, notably Corporate Finance, Valuation, Investments and Banking, and strong didactic skills will be an asset. Furthermore, a very good command of English is required.

The candidate will be expected to develop research at an international level in his/her field of specialisation and to obtain external funding. The candidate will also be expected to assume management and organisational tasks related to his/her function at the Geneva Finance Research Institute and to be engaged in the GSEM’s community, to actively collaborate with its various stakeholders, and to contribute to initiatives of the School.

Candidate profile: The candidate must hold a PhD in Finance or in a related field in a recognised university, the quality of his/her research should be demonstrated by publications in top international peer-reviewed journals. Junior applicants (pre-tenure) can demonstrate research excellence with promising research projects, papers and academic references. Teaching experience in the field of Finance (Corporate Finance, Valuation, Investments, Banking) in different academic levels is required, strong didactical skills will be an asset. The candidate is expected to teach in English, and the ability to teach in French is
an advantage.
