Weber Verlag in Thun is a renowned Swiss non-fiction and magazine publisher. With over 100 publications annually, it stands for high-quality designed books on the topics of Switzerland, leisure, hiking, nature, enjoyment, local culture as well as biographies and children’s books.

In addition, Weber Verlag publishes various national magazines, including «Hotelier», «natürlich» and the «Weinseller Journal», as well as regional publications such as the «Thun-Magazin».

For the specialist magazine «Hotelier», which appears six times a year, we are looking for a committed, highly organised and communicative personality. You will take on the project management and editorial supervision of the magazine and also support us in the areas of marketing and sales. Additionally, you will collaborate on other magazine and book projects of the publishing house.

Your tasks

• Project management of the specialist magazine «Hotelier» from topic planning to publication
• Planning, coordination and monitoring of the six annual issues
• Creating and maintaining production schedules as well as ensuring deadlines and editorial cut-offs
• Developing topics, researching, writing and editing articles
• Collecting, checking and processing manuscripts, images and other production materials
• Coordination and communication with authors, hotels, industry partners, photographers, graphics, advertising sales and printing house
• Editing and proofreading other magazines as well as selected book projects of Weber Verlag
• Support in planning and implementing marketing and communication measures
• Assistance with mailings, newsletters, events, cooperations and other sales-promoting activities
• Support of advertising sales in preparing sales documents, customer care and administrative tasks
• Maintaining contacts, address data, documentation and filing
• General organisational and administrative work related to the publications managed

Your profile

• Training or professional experience in the fields of editing, journalism, communication, marketing, publishing or project management
• Very good written and spoken German skills as well as a pronounced sense of language
• Experience in writing, editing and proofreading texts
• Independent, structured and reliable way of working
• Enjoy coordinating several projects and deadlines simultaneously
• Strong communication skills and confident manner with customers, partners and external staff
• Interest in the hotel, gastronomy and tourism industry
• Flair for marketing, sales and customer-oriented communication
• Confident use of common Microsoft Office programmes
• Knowledge of editorial systems, newsletter programmes, social media or Adobe applications is an advantage
