Job Description

In this versatile and responsible role, you will take on a central role in the further development, support, and security of our ICT infrastructure.
Your focus is on the operation, planning, and optimisation of our network environment, which is mainly based on Cisco.

In addition, you support operations in the Microsoft and Linux environments with your knowledge and master certificate management.

Your main tasks include:

• Further development and design of our ICT infrastructure with a focus on networking
• Operation, administration, and optimisation of Cisco network solutions
• Planning, configuration, installation, and support of network components such as switches, routers, firewalls, and WLAN infrastructures
• Implementation and support of SD-WAN and MPLS solutions
• Design and maintenance of network zones / zoning to secure the infrastructure
• Ensuring a stable, secure, and high-performance network operation
• Analysis and resolution of faults and error conditions in the network and system environment
• Leading projects in the network environment
• Participation in infrastructure projects
• Representation of Elektro-Material in international projects of the Rexel Group
• Implementation of security requirements in the network and system environment
• Creation, maintenance, and further development of system-technical and network-related documentation
• Collaboration with internal contacts, specialist departments, and external partners
• Support in client engineering as well as topics around SCCM, GPO, AD, and workplace security
• Contribution to the standardisation and automation of ICT processes

Qualifications

For this demanding role, we are looking for a technically skilled individual with extensive proven experience in networking and a strong understanding of security and complex interrelationships.

You bring the following:

• Several years of very good and practical experience in firewalls, networks, with Cisco technologies
• In-depth knowledge in planning, configuration, and operation of Cisco networks
• Experience with SD-WAN, MPLS, network segmentation, and zoning
• Solid knowledge in network security, security architectures, and security policies
• Experience in managing security certificates and certificate infrastructures
• Ability to understand, analyse, and document complex technical and organisational contexts
• Experience with complex infrastructure projects and heterogeneous IT environments
• Solid knowledge in Microsoft and Linux environments
• Experience in client engineering, ideally with MECM, SCCM, GPO, AD, and security policies
• Training as an IT specialist EFZ or comparable technical basic training
• Cisco certification, at least CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional)
• You are proficient in German and English and can communicate well in both languages, written and spoken
• Further education in IT, system technology, or networking, e.g. HF/FH or comparable, is an advantage
