We are looking for a senior registrar with FMH title or deputy senior registrar in the process of obtaining their specialist title to join our outpatient child and adolescent psychiatry team within the CAP (Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Outpatient Centre) of the Réseau de l'Arc, in Switzerland.
In this full-time role, you will work in collaboration with a medical-therapeutic team (child and adolescent psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses) to provide high-quality child and adolescent psychiatric care to our patients.
The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Service of the Mental Health Division of the Réseau de l'ARC is an ISFM training institution (currently undergoing recognition for category B) for both hospital and outpatient activities.
Job Description
Your work consists of assessing and caring for children and adolescents aged 0-18 and their families in an outpatient setting within the CAP.
The CAP also works closely with the UHPA (Psychiatric Hospitalisation Unit for Adolescents) and the emergency department of Moutier hospital, able to respond to urgent outpatient consultation requests.
The tasks are as follows:
- Conduct child and adolescent psychiatric assessments and care of patients independently
- Supervise and mentor the assistant doctor and assistant psychologist, both in training
- Demonstrate the ability to support, manage complex cases in the field, and make decisions and take responsibilities incumbent on a second-line senior doctor
- Act as deputy for the site’s responsible doctor, the CAP’s lead doctor regarding tasks related to site organisation and smooth running of care (child and adolescent psychiatric assessments, family and network interviews)
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the medical-therapeutic team.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications
- Participate in the outpatient care continuity system.
- Intervene in crises and provide emergency child and adolescent psychiatric care when necessary.
- Participate in medical-therapeutic team meetings to discuss patient care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed electronic medical records.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of child and adolescent psychiatric protocols and procedures for outpatient and hospital sectors
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications
- Possession of a medical degree or an equivalent title recognised by the Federal Commission of Medical Professions (MEBEKO) is mandatory.
- At least 3 years of assistantship experience, including at least 2 years in child and adolescent psychiatry and psychotherapy, plus additional years in adult psychiatry or paediatrics are required
- Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team is essential.
- A strong commitment to medical training and knowledge dissemination is required.
- Initiative, curiosity, and interest in project implementation.
- Proficiency in French at a minimum B2 level is necessary.
