Tasks:
- install and configure the operating system (z/OS in a multi-system SYSPLEX environment), the related connected subsystems and the main software products of the central system (System Z)
- configure the hardware resources of the central system and manage its operations
- perform regular maintenance activities and updates of the software products used in the system (corrections and new functionalities)
- carry out system management tasks such as data backups, user definition, performance control and optimization of resources and operations
- define and configure automation processes and monitor the operations of the operating system and installed software
- collaborate in the preparation of technical/functional documentation of the operating system and installed software products
- participate in the provision of services in their CSI area (on-call duties, ordinary and extraordinary maintenance interventions outside normal office hours)
- conduct internal training courses and provide user support and consulting
Requirements:
- bachelor's degree or SSIG or equivalent qualification, preferably in computer science or electronics; in the absence of the required qualifications, proven experience in system administration in a z/OS environment, specifically: z/OS operating system
- excellent knowledge of the z/OS operating system (installation, configuration, and management).
- good knowledge of the main z/OS subsystems (JES2, SMS, RACF, DFHSM, VTAM, TCP/IP) and their configurations
- ability to operate in a SYSPLEX environment
- ability to manage hardware configurations of a System Z (Hardware Configuration Definition, Hardware Management Console)
- excellent knowledge of SMP/E for software installation in the system, knowledge of z/OSMF is a plus
- knowledge of REXX language and CLIST (TSO)
- knowledge of Db2 management in a z/OS environment.
- experience with automation products (BMC AutoOperator) and monitoring (BMC MainView)
- problem-solving attitude and ability to work independently in a complex environment
- good interpersonal and writing skills
- willingness to perform ordinary and extraordinary maintenance work outside normal office hours
Special notes:
- The System Administrator I role (class 10) can only be assigned to candidates with at least 15 years of professional experience in the required field
- The System Administrator II role (class 9) will be assigned to candidates with less than 15 years of professional experience in the required field
