The Diagnostic Department , composed of eight medical services, has the mission to provide diagnostics, therapeutic products, therapeutic acts, and specialized clinical consultations, of high medical quality, within the best timeframes and at an acceptable cost, to guide patient care and contribute to therapeutic decisions and actions.
The Radiology Service has as its main mission the performance of diagnostic radiology examinations and therapeutic interventions under the guidance of various imaging techniques. This clinical activity includes approximately 220,000 examinations and 5,000 diagnostic and therapeutic procedures per year, a significant part of which is provided on a 24/7 basis. The medical team of the radiology service also organizes more than 300 multidisciplinary conferences per month, on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
The Radiology Service is looking for the future associate senior physician or non-associate senior physician, head of the gynecological radiology unit.
Job Description
As an associate physician or deputy to the chief physician of the service, unit head, you coordinate and develop all clinical diagnostic activities in the field of gynecological radiology. You are responsible for the strategy of radiological investigations to be conducted in close collaboration with the referring physicians.
Within your clinical activities, you conduct radiological examinations and interpret them, perform minimally invasive interventional procedures, and are responsible for quality control of examinations on technical and medical levels. You participate in on-call and standby duties in pediatric radiology, under the supervision of dedicated pediatric radiology teams.
You actively participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching by ensuring the development of clinical knowledge and supervising medical students, residents, and chief residents. You develop radiology learning in a clinical environment and conduct theoretical conferences as well as practical seminars in your areas of specialization. Thanks to your teaching and transmission skills, you contribute to attracting the academic next generation in your specialty field.
Part of your activities will be dedicated to research for which you develop innovative projects. These research projects can be initiated within the framework of collaborations at the Lake Geneva region, national or international level, with funding from private sources.
In your functions, you actively participate in the administrative and managerial management of the unit. You organize various multidisciplinary conferences in the field of women's imaging and facilitate interactions to ensure quality services and team spirit. You apply within your unit the common directives applicable to all units of the radiology service, in collaboration with the chief physician of the service.
Throughout your activities, you ensure close transdepartmental collaboration, notably with the Gynecology Service as well as with physicians from the units of the Radiology Service. Through regular exchanges with all teams, you ensure optimal patient care and a high level of medical quality. Moreover, you contribute to the development of projects in the field of gynecological radiology with the Radiology Service, other services of the Diagnostic Department, and other departments of the HUG.
We offer you the opportunity to join a cutting-edge Radiology Service, which supervises complex clinical situations and offers quality medical services thanks to an interdisciplinary team of more than 200 health professionals (medical staff, nurses, radiology technicians, etc.). In constant contact with physicians in training, you will develop your personal knowledge and skills through teaching.
Qualifications
You hold a federal medical diploma or have equivalent training and have obtained a specialist title in radiology. You also hold a doctoral thesis and have published as first author.
If your diploma comes from a foreign country, you have obtained recognition from the Medical Professions Commission of the Federal Office of Public Health (MEBEKO) and your diploma is registered in the Medical Professions Register (MedReg).
Furthermore, you must obtain/have obtained a Geneva cantonal practice license, regardless of where your diploma was obtained.
You master the French language (spoken and written - C1 level required) and have very good enumeration skills. For non-French-speaking applicants, C1 level in spoken and written French is required.
You demonstrate excellent communication skills in multidisciplinary teams and with patients, you are dynamic, flexible, and committed. Additionally, you have demonstrated strong adaptability.
You show openness of mind and possess leadership qualities, allowing you to supervise and mentor residents and chief residents as well as support and motivate staff. You have demonstrated teaching skills and have a strong interest in research and innovation.
Finally, you have the ambition to promote and develop a high-level clinical and academic activity in your specialty field.
