The St.Gallen Cantonal Police ensures peace, security, and order around the clock in the canton of St.Gallen. It investigates crimes and monitors compliance with applicable laws.
In the brand new Emergency Call and Operations Control Center (NEZ), employees of the St.Gallen Cantonal Police and St.Gallen Rescue Service work together. Here, the emergency numbers 117 (police), 118 (fire brigade), 144 (ambulance), and 112 (international emergency number) converge. Together, the employees of both organizations ensure rapid and coordinated assistance from all blue light organizations in the canton of St.Gallen.

Dispatcher Emergency Call and Operations Control Center NEZ (m/f/d)

What to expect
- In emergency call handling, you actively take case management and are responsible for the deployment and dispatch of suitable resources
- You lead the operation at least until the emergency forces arrive on site and proactively support them afterwards if needed
- You use your IT skills effectively and, as a skilled user of police specialist applications, are able to support the emergency forces on the front line and lead in the initial phase
- You are responsible for the regular review of processes and workflows in your area of activity as well as maintaining and developing your own competencies
- Your main focus is on the operations control and information system as well as various peripheral systems
- Disseminating manhunts and alerts in police-known systems as well as operating traffic control and management are also part of your duties, as is constructive and efficient cooperation with partner organizations (ambulance and fire brigade)
What distinguishes you
- You are a police officer with a federal specialist certificate and have experience in frontline work as well as in-depth knowledge of general police work. The advertisement is especially aimed at police officers who see a deployment in the NEZ as an opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills in a new working environment
- You work in the city of St.Gallen in shift work in a small team and perform several night and weekend shifts monthly
