Dipl. Nurse HF 40%With around 1,400 employees, the Justice Enforcement and Reintegration (JuWe) is responsible for penal and measure enforcement as well as for the implementation of various types of detention. Our employees from around 40 professions support and promote the reintegration of offenders and are committed effectively and progressively to a safe and just society.
The Medical Service is one of eight main departments of JuWe and, as a central organisation, is responsible for the medical-somatic basic care of all incarcerated persons in the institutions of the Canton of Zurich. It ensures medical care from initial assessment through treatments to emergency care and supports incarcerated persons in everyday health matters.
As part of the Zurich Enforcement Facilities (VEZ), the Bachtel Enforcement Centre (VZB) specialises in open enforcement of custodial and especially substitute custodial sentences and has 94 detention places for incarcerated men. The focus is on the daily occupation of the incarcerated persons, which provides structure and promotes their development in everyday enforcement life.
To complement the Medical Service, we are looking for you immediately or by arrangement.
This is your area of responsibility
- You are the professional and thus responsible for first intervention in medical and psychiatric emergencies, admission assessments as well as ensuring basic medical care including medication management of incarcerated persons
- Administrative tasks such as billing and correspondence with internal and external interfaces
- You support medical rounds and maintain active contact with various external agencies
- You work closely with our supervisors/carers and train them for emergencies and health-related matters
- Co-design and development of the medical department by contributing your professional and social skills and participating in working and project groups, also across locations
