Policy Advisor Movement Hub on Harmful Information

Attached to the Swiss Red Cross (SRC), the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement Hub on Harmful Information helps the Movement combat harmful information and leverage its unique strengths, values and global network to preserve a humanitarian space in which the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross are fully respected. The policy advisor ensures strategic and policy alignment between the hub, the Movement components and the humanitarian sector. A specific percentage of the position will be dedicated to supporting the SRC International Policy division. This is a fixed-term contract (1 June 2026 – 31 December 2028).
Your area of activity
- Stay informed about policies and technologies regarding harmful information in the humanitarian sector and beyond, and ensure knowledge transfer to the hub team
- Identify research and partnership opportunities
Ensure coherence between the hub’s activities and existing policies within the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement:
- Transform ideas, activities and initiatives into transferable concepts/policies
- Ensure the hub’s activities align with existing policies
- Establish and maintain a network of stakeholders advancing policies in the field of harmful information to stay informed of developments in the area
- Conduct research and draft briefing notes
Your profile
- University degree in international relations, political science, law or a related field; additional specialisation in international humanitarian law or specific training on the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is an asset
- At least ten years of professional experience in international relations, policy or diplomacy
- Skills in political analysis and writing
- Ease in creating and managing cross-cutting networks with diverse partners
- Project management skills
- Excellent knowledge of English and French or German (C1+); other language skills (Spanish, Arabic) are a great advantage
