Infrastructure Manager Workplace Delivery 80 - 100%The Office for Information Technology (AFI) is the IT competence centre of the Canton of Zurich. It provides comprehensive services in the area of central IT infrastructure and canton-wide applications for directorates, authorities, the judiciary, and independent institutions. Commissioned with the implementation of the new Information and Communication Technology (ICT) strategy, the Office for Information Technology accompanies and supports the Canton of Zurich into the digital world.
In the Workplace Delivery team, we design and manage services around the digital workplace. At the interface with Workplace Engineering, Service Management, Architecture, Security, and external partners, we ensure that technical solutions are sustainable, secure, economical, and reliably operable in the long term. For this key role, we are looking for a person who understands technology, organises contexts, and takes responsibility over the entire lifecycle.
Your tasks:
- Technical overall responsibility for the assigned workplace technologies as well as further development along the entire lifecycle
- Capturing and translating customer requirements and developing sustainable solutions from technological developments as well as security and architecture specifications
- Planning and coordination of changes, releases, and maintenance as well as implementation with the Workplace Engineering team and external service providers
- Management and responsibility for problem management, capacities, risks, and licences as well as coordination of all involved specialist departments
- Ensuring compliance with agreed SLAs and OLAs as well as support in 2nd and 3rd level
- Evaluation of technical solutions and close collaboration with service owners, external service providers, and customer management
- Positioning your specialist area for internal and external contacts
Your profile:
- Completed studies in computer science or an equivalent education and training
- Several years of experience in technical responsibility for digital workplace, client, endpoint, or comparable infrastructure services in a complex environment
- Profound understanding of modern workplace technologies, operational and security requirements, as well as on-premises, cloud, and hybrid solution approaches
- Practical experience in lifecycle, change, problem, and service management
- The ability to structure technical matters, assess impacts on the overall system, and make well-founded decisions
- Negotiation-level communication skills in German and good knowledge of English
- You act independently, remain solution-oriented amid differing interests, and convince through clarity, reliability, and collaboration at eye level
