As part of its responsibilities as network owner, Swissgrid is in charge of the Swiss electricity transmission network as well as the reliable and economical operation of the extra-high voltage network. To guarantee the quality and security of electricity supply, its mission focuses on the operation, maintenance, renewal and development of the electrical installations of the transmission network.

Ensuring electricity in Switzerland

In this responsible role, you will be particularly in charge of the following tasks:

• Processing and prioritising reports from visual inspections carried out by our contractors.
• Creating vegetation reports from your own inspections of line corridors, monitoring the status of reports in SAP/GIS, analysing LiDAR data and defining necessary measures.
• Preparing and supporting tenders for tree-felling work near power lines, organising wood cutting in collaboration with landowners and authorities.
• Controlling and verifying measures during their execution, while ensuring work safety in coordination with installation managers.
• Creating and updating work acceptance documents as well as monitoring the budget.
• Participating in the development of standard documentation in the field of forestry work and contributing to continuous process improvement.
• Supporting the planning and creation of small ecological structures as well as the planning and implementation of invasive neophyte control.

For this exciting position, we are looking for a positive, stress-resistant person with a true team spirit and good physical condition. You show initiative, a sense of responsibility and work in a structured manner. You also possess organisational and negotiation skills. In addition, you bring:

• Training as a forester-lumberjack completed by a Forester ES diploma or equivalent training, as well as several years of professional experience.
• A willingness to train in the electrotechnical field and experience in safety forestry work near high-voltage lines.
• Experience collaborating with sorting forest rangers, competent authorities and managing external contractors.
• Experience in preparing tender dossiers, working documents and safety plans.
• Good IT skills (MS products, GIS, SAP, PLS-CADD).
• A category B driving licence.
• Fluency in French or German, with very good negotiation skills in the other language.
